LAS PUERTAS DE PARÍS

Alrededor de París hay 64 puertas que se extienden a lo largo del bulevar periférico, una autopista  que sigue el trazado de la antigua muralla. Dichas puertas, invisibles pero no por ello inexistentes, separan la banlieue de la ciudad, hasta el extremo de que hoy día se sigue considerando a la periferia como extramuros.

El cambio morfológico que se aprecia al atravesar cualquiera de sus puertas es inmediato y, en algunos casos, brutal. Este trabajo, realizado con una beca del Ministerio de Cultura, propone un diálogo entre París y los territorios cercanos a sus puertas, en el justo umbral donde la ciudad desaparece.

LAS PUERTAS DE PARIS

Around Paris there are 64 doors that extend along the peripheric boulevard, a highway that follows the route of the old wall. Such doors, invisible but not non-existent, separate the banlieue of the city, to the extent that nowadays periphery is still cosidered as the suburbs outside the walls.

The morphological change that you appreciate when you cross any of its doors is immediate and in some cases, huge. This work, conducted with a scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, proposes a dialogue between Paris and the territories close to it´s doors, the threshold where the city just disappears.
